International Hiring Cycles
The international tech market follows seasonal patterns tied to company budget cycles. Based on the mentoring session with Bruno Alves de Araújo (07/2026). Related: Active & Passive Job Search · Interview Presence
The Two Hiring Peaks
| Period | Context |
|---|---|
| January to March | Annual budgets are released; companies staff up for the year ahead. |
| August to September | Second semester; companies reassess needs and open new positions. |
- July is a transition month — first-semester budgets close and companies reorganize for the second half.
- Openings appear year-round, but opportunity volume is highest during these two cycles.
Strategic Implications
- Hot periods: Increase active application volume and recruiter outreach.
- Cold periods: Invest in preparation — LinkedIn, posts, interview practice, English improvement.
- If you’ve been searching for months without success, it might be the wrong cycle, not your profile or skills.
⚠️ Trap: Don’t use the cycle as an excuse to stop searching — openings exist even in cold periods, and competition may be lower.
