International Hiring Cycles

The international tech market follows seasonal patterns tied to company budget cycles. Based on the mentoring session with Bruno Alves de Araújo (07/2026). Related: Active & Passive Job Search · Interview Presence

The Two Hiring Peaks

Period Context
January to March Annual budgets are released; companies staff up for the year ahead.
August to September Second semester; companies reassess needs and open new positions.
  • July is a transition month — first-semester budgets close and companies reorganize for the second half.
  • Openings appear year-round, but opportunity volume is highest during these two cycles.

Strategic Implications

  • Hot periods: Increase active application volume and recruiter outreach.
  • Cold periods: Invest in preparation — LinkedIn, posts, interview practice, English improvement.
  • If you’ve been searching for months without success, it might be the wrong cycle, not your profile or skills.

⚠️ Trap: Don’t use the cycle as an excuse to stop searching — openings exist even in cold periods, and competition may be lower.
